Co.B 304th Signal Bn had two dogs that hung around. This dog's name is Chingu. He was fed from the mess hall and would eat everything given to him except the days we had lamb. If a Korean dog wouldn't eat lamb, you know the GI's didn't eat it either. Chingu's best treat was beer. The dog could hold his beer like most GI's, but when drunk Chingu had great difficulty getting across the banjo ditches and usually had to be rescued after falling into them.
